Poipu, Kauai. Poipu is the region that is situated in the south part of Kauai Island. Accommodation on this part of island is perfect for families. Beaches are ideal for children. Most of rentals have no air- condition, so think twice and ask hotels for room facilities. If you are looking for luxury vacations, there are 2 luxury resorts: the Sheraton and the Hyatt. These two hotels have very beautiful views, pools and are just perfect for a holiday when you can afforf it.

 Lihue, Kauai. Lihue is situated on the east side of Kauai Island. The Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club, the Aston Aloha Beach Resort, the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort are very nice hotels of this area. Marriott is prefered by just married couples and used for honeymoon vacations, Aston is ideal for family holidays, Hilton has coral rocks and because of this it’s beach is not good for swimming but it’s pool is great in all weather, so Hilton is also is considered a very good resort for travel to Kauai.

Kapaa, Kauai.  Kapaa is situated on the east side of the Kauai Island but is more centered, if you look at the map. Kaapa, Kauai properties: Aston Islander, Kauai Coast Resort, Outrigger and the Castle Kaha Lani, Waipoli Beach Resort, Princeville Resort. Aston Maka’iwa ha the only hotel of that area. Princeville resort is a beloved place of new married couples. To say more, the area where Princeville resort is situated is considered to be the most beautiful on all the Hawaii Islands, so if you want your honeymoon to be unforgettable welcome to Hawaii!

Beaches of the Big Island. Please note, that some beaches of Hawaii are private or belong to holiday resorts and hotels. Though to some private beaches you can easy reach it is not adviced to risk, there is a lot of space to enjoy sun and sea for free, enough for everybody! The best idea is to book a holiday in some hotel with a wonderful beach and enjoy your vacations. There are more that 80 beaches of the Big Island! Which one to choose? And how? Kona, which is situated on the west part of the Big Island is warmer and sunnier, that’s why a lot of tourists prefer that part of the island. And may be that’s west coast is developing faster that the other parts of the island.

Keokea. This part of the island is perfect for fishing, there are picnic tables, showers, water, electricity and space for camping.

Mahukona. This par of the island is good for diving and snorkeling.

Spenser. One of the very beautiful white sand beaches. Ideal for families with small children. Swimming is allowed here all year round. Very good place for camping, exept standart camping services has tennis court.

Kaunaoa. By reviews of the tourists is considered to be the most beautiful beach of the Big Island. Good for snorkeling but not in winter. In winter season waves are too big.

Holoholokai. This beach is rocky and is a beloved place of snorkelers but not for those who prefer lazy sunbathing and swimming.

Anaehoomalu. This beach is perfect for divers, swimmers, snorkelers and windsurfers. The advantage of this beach is opportunity to hire equipment.

Kona Coast. As I have already mentioned before, Kona is the sunniest part of the beach, so more attractive, but note, that Kona Coast Beach has no drinking water and toilets are only portable. New view, shaded by coconut trees is a plus but if you are looking for more facilities look for another beach.

Kaloko Honokohau national  park. It is a historical park not far from Honokohau harbor. Beach of the park is ok for swimming. The area is reach for historical and cultural sights.

Kamakahonu. This beach is ideal for families with children. White sand, shadows from the trees – your child will enjoy playing and will be covered from sun.

Kona Magic. One more sandy beach of Kona.

Kahalu. This beach is considered to be the best for snorkeling on the Big Island.

Napoopoo. Take a boat tour with glass bottom boat in Keauhou bay to enjoy the underwater life of this area.

Green Sand. If you are looking for something unusual on the Big Island, visit Green Sand Beach. Do not swim in windy season.

Punalu. This beach is famous for green sea turtles.

As I have mentioned before, The Big Island of Hawaii is really big and has a lot of beaches. I will mention about the rest onces later and also in other articles I will tell in details on all the beaches. So which beach to visit? They are not so close to each other how it seems from the map. If you are looking for tracking some of them to choose the best one, maybe car rental will be better and easie for you and your family. Anyway, choose the beach that is more suitable for your family. If you have children prefer beaches that are adviced for families. Choose good weather for sunbathing and swimming, and almost every beach will look like the best and perfect one!
