Marino Ballena National Park. Do you like Costa Rica? Or you are just planning your first holiday there? Be sure, that you reserved a day for Marino Ballena National Park of Costa Rica. It is a wonderful park where you can meet closer with nature, flora and fauna of Costa Rica. Marino Ballena has 4 entrances for visitors. Entrance to Uvita takes you to rocks and reefs formation Punta Uvita.
Main travel sights of Marina Ballena. El Tompolo de Punta Uvita, Isla Ballena y Tres Hermanas, Coral Reefs, Mangroves, Playa Arco.
Whales. If you want to watch whales, best time for it is from August till October and From December to April.
Dolphins. The following dolphin species can be met in the park: Common Dolphins, Bottle Nose Dolphins, Pantropical Spotted Dolphins.
Turtles. Marino Ballena National Park is also a protected area for sea turtles. Sea shore of Costa Rica is used by sea turtles for nesting.
Birds of the park: Magnificent Frigate Bird, Brown Pelican, Yellow Crowned Night Heron, Osprey, Little Blue Heron.
Reefs. Crescent shaped reefs protect beaches of Marino Ballena on the one side, and rocky islands from another side.
Snorkeling. Marino Ballena is one of ideal places for snorkeling on Costa Rica. If you are going to spend some days in the sea enjoying it’s underwater life I can advice you a luxury hotel Cuna del Angel not far from the park.
To protect the park follow the advices that are written on the official Marino Ballena web- site: Do not take anything with you from the park, use eco- friendly soap in the showers, motor vehicles are not allowed to enter the park, and if you want to camp there, have special agreement, respect the silence of the park and do not be too noisy, do not leave garbage in the park.
